If you’re anything like me, perhaps you are looking to create the best version of yourself so that you may help to raise the best version of your children and to just be the best you that you can be. I believe that the combination of healthy eating, daily meditation, movement and organization are the keys to feeling your best.
Maybe you’ve never had any interest in bettering yourself, maybe you meditate daily or read blogs, listen to podcasts, cook real food at home or maybe you have always wanted to but have never created the time or space to do so. Welcome! I believe in sharing what I’ve learned and about being open about dealing with the stresses of motherhood and honoring our own true selves.
My name is Julie and soon after I gave birth to my second child, I realized that I felt like I was losing touch with myself. I had to do some homework and I realized that I was not showing up in this world as the woman I really wanted to be, and therefore could not physically or emotionally be the mom that I truly wanted to be for my children so I had to make some changes.
I was overwhelmed so I decided to turn to Mindfulness, meditation, movement of my body, inner work and lots of healthy foods as a way of coping with the stresses I was facing. I wanted to learn more about myself and be honest with how I felt. I needed a change so I chose to focus on my breath (hey, it’s free!!! and always there). I opted for a path that would help me to create the best version of myself so that I could create the best version of my children…..this is now my obsession. I stand here now, not as a perfect Mom, but as a Mom who still uses the tools I’ve learned to “take the edge off.”
I learned something very important things from my little bundle of joys: I have to be present for them and stay healthy for them. I want to be a good example and teach them the importance of a balanced diet and a balanced life. Being a wife and mom has made nutrition even more important because I am cooking for my family and sharing my knowledge. I received my education from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2011. Raising my kids with the best food I can give them is very important to me. I am their role model. I’m passionate about helping my kids develop a love of fresh foods. I love exercising with my family and showing them it is important to move our bodies. Life is hard but people from all walks of life have struggled and you know what? It’s okay. If you see a thin, beautiful woman walking down the street and you think to yourself “If only I could look like her…” the thing is you have no idea what she is going through. Maybe she herself is struggling with her own insecurity or is unhealthy. Thin doesn’t mean healthy. We need to embrace our own existence and be good to our bodies. After seeing how small changes can make such a big difference in myself, I wanted to help others striving to live healthier, happier lives.
Education and awareness are essential and my goal is to bring these two together to help anyone who wants the help. Today’s diet is overloaded with the word “convenience” – fast food, take out, prepackaged items. Now don’t get me wrong; as a mom I am all for convenience, especially if it makes my life easier! But understanding the good and bad of this equation is crucial. I strive for a diet based around whole foods and home-cooked meals (and, yes, home-baked goodies too). But I don’t eat “perfectly”, and neither does my family. Our eating habits are works of progress, just like we are and we will continue to work to be the best version of ourselves we can be.
I hope you will join me in this adventure.
I share my learnings with you in the hopes that, together, we may up-level ourselves and commit to raising this next generation from a place of peace and love; within ourselves and our homes.

Ask me how to start using and diffusing oils in your own home. I offer personal or group classes to help educate you on the use of essential oils for you and your family. Contact me to schedule. I’m happy to chat about it.
It is very important to only use high-quality, pure oils on your skin or inside your body. I am not a doctor and none of these suggestions are to be taken as medical advice. I encourage you to do your own research. Please exercise common sense when using the oils- do not put them in your eyes or inner ears, and use a carrier oil if you are using them on children or on someone with sensitive skin.
ESSENTIAL OILS
I am so glad we live in a civilized society and have access to modern medicine, but I believe there are great complimentary natural remedies too. There are many beneficial natural ways to support your body. I am a huge advocate for living a holistic lifestyle. What that means is turning first to natural remedies like essential oils to support my health and well-being for me and my family. Once you discover the power in these little vials, they can drastically change your life.
Essential oils come from plants. Did you know that many of our pharmaceuticals were originally derived from plants as well? For example, aspirin originally came from the bark of the willow tree, while morphine came from poppy plants.Plants can provide us with healing benefits and essential oils are not a new concept. They have been used for thousands of years. Diffusing essential oils in your home or office is a perfect way to help you relieve tension, dispel odors, and create an atmosphere of peace and harmony. When diffusing, essential oils have been reported to support the immune system and create a feeling of balance and well-being. Diffusing releases oxygenating molecules as well as negative ions, which kill microbes.
Research also shows that cold-air diffusing certain oils may:
Reduce bacteria, fungus, mold, and unpleasant odors.
Relax the mind and body, relieve tension, and clear the mind.
Help with weight management.
Improve concentration, alertness and mental clarity.
Dispel orders.
Using essential oils aromatically can influence you in a myriad of ways. Traditionally, aromatic usage has been aimed at improving a person’s mood. A better and more stable temperament can have countless benefits on your life, every single day and through the normal stresses of day-to-day life. Studies show convincing evidence that simply inhaling the aroma of an essential oil is effective for calming nervous or anxious feelings in a variety of settings.
